Why Calcium Ascorbate instead of Ascorbic Acid?
Ascorbic acid is naturally acidic. In calcium ascorbate, vitamin C is bound to calcium, which makes it non-acidic and gentler on the stomach for many people. Once absorbed, both provide the same vitamin C, so you get the same benefits in a gentler form.
Why is there Calcium on the panel?
The calcium comes mainly from the calcium ascorbate, with smaller amounts from the calcium pantothenate and calcium carbonate. It provides 58 mg (4% DV) per capsule, so it isn't meant to be a calcium supplement.
Why L-5-Methyltetrahydrofolate instead of Folic Acid?
Folic acid has to be converted by your body before it can be used. L-5-Methyltetrahydrofolate is already in the active form your body uses.
